Podiatry with Dr. Alissa Kuizinas, DPM

Meet Dr. Alissa Kuizinas

I am a board certified podiatrist from who’s passionate about foot health. I absolutely love seeing my patients transform their feet without surgery or invasive procedures! Whether you want to eliminate pain, get stronger, more flexible, or simply feel better in shoes, I am happy to help you achieve those goals!

Podiatry has traditionally relied heavily on treatments such as orthotics, injections, and surgery. While these can all be helpful in certain cases, the vast majority of foot pain is caused by foot dysfunction. After several years in private practice, I realized there was a serious need for education and programs to help people reverse foot dysfunction. We simply are not doing enough during a 10-15 minute office visit to help people truly get better.

What is Foot Dysfunction

Foot dysfunction refers to the gradual deterioration and structural adaptation of the human foot over time. Due to modern footwear, lifestyle habits, and lack of exposure to exercise and natural surfaces, our feet experience changes throughout our lives.

These changes are what eventually lead our feet to be less efficient, more weak, and prone to deformities such as bunions, arthritis, and painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis.

Our Feet Have an Amazing Capacity For Change

No matter what state you currently find your feet in, there are natural, noninvasive ways to improve them.

My treatment plans involve increasing sensory input and stimulation, drills and exercises to strengthen feet, and lifestyle modifications to remove the underlying cause of the dysfunction. In fact, changes in footwear make a huge difference when it comes to restoring your feet!

Testimonials

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Alissa. After struggling to resolve foot pain for two years with other podiatrists and physical therapy, Alissa got to the root of the problem. She prescribed an evolving set of exercises and shockwave treatment that has me feeling like myself again. I’m grateful for her thoughtful care and deep understanding of strengthening the foot to resolve pain. I’ve never had a doctor who could so capably diagnose and treat a health issue.

I always thought I was wearing the best sneakers and shoes. Then one day out of nowhere, I was suddenly struck by foot pain that brought my very active lifestyle to an abrupt halt.  That's how I found my way to Dr. Alissa Kuizinas.  I was meeting with Dr. Ian Nurse, explained my foot pain and he said, "We have an amazing podiatrist that can help you."   Amazing is the perfect word to describe Dr. Alissa.  In one short hour, she taught me more about feet, shoes and exercises for my feet than one could imagine.  Now I'm walking and running in sneakers and shoes that are truly wide enough, long enough, and actually foot shaped; it's been a game changer.  I'd highly recommend that anyone who has feet meet with Dr. Alissa.  Thank you Dr. Ian for adding her to your amazing team!
