Amniotic Fluid Injections with Clarix Flo

Amniotic fluid injections are a form of regenerative medicine that use cells derived from umbilical cord and amniotic membrane to heal soft tissue injuries. The fluid contains collagen, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid and growth factors which stimulate the healing process in the body. The injections work by promoting tissue regeneration and modulating inflammation by recruiting new cells to the damaged area. By modulating the environment around an injury, they allow the body's own healing response to take effect.

What are amniotic injections used for?

Amniotic injections can be performed for any foot or ankle injuries including plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinosis, capsulitis, and arthritis. They are most commonly utilized for chronic plantar fasciitis that has not improved with conservative treatment. The injections are done in the office and do not require any special preparation. Following the procedure, a walking boot is used for about 2 weeks. Pain relief can be experienced at around 2-4 weeks and will continue to progress for 6-12 weeks.

Amniotic injections are a great alternative to surgery or invasive procedures, and can allow your body to heal musculoskeletal injuries and improve pain while limiting down time and allowing for a quick return to activity.

What is the difference between amniotic injections and cortisone injections?

Cortisone injections provide short term relief by reducing swelling and inflammation around an injury. However, they do not have long term effects and do not promote tissue healing. They can also cause damage and weakening to the adjacent tissue. Amniotic injections stimulate the growth of new cells which helps repair tissue over time, and do not cause tissue damage or have adverse effects on the injected area.

Pricing

Amniotic injections are not currently covered by insurance. The cost for the injection is $800, and in most cases only one injection is required.
