Introducing Dr. Lauren Lozier, a sports, ortho, and performance physical therapist whose journey began on the field hockey turf and as captain of her high school track team. While pursuing college field hockey, Lauren faced her own injury challenges with a stress fracture. This ignited her passion for rehabilitation and performance. Now, as a dedicated physical therapist specializing in treating fellow runners, she combines first hand experience, expert knowledge and up to date research. Lauren's commitment to helping athletes recover and return to their stride reflects her empathy and determination forged through personal trials on and off the field. You can find her sharing her expertise online and at various local speaking engagements, including at the 2022 Boston Marathon Expo.
Lauren has competed in numerous 5k, 10k and half marathons as well as staying active in the field hockey community.
**Dr. Lauren Lozier also specializes in treating perinatal pelvic floor conditions. Unfortunately, due to the high demand. She is not accepting new Pelvic Floor patients at this time (1/4/24).
Dr. Bash is a Physical Therapist in the Boston area who specializes in treating and preventing running injuries as well as other orthopedic conditions. Dr. Bash has been a Physical Therapist for 8 years as well as a Personal Trainer for 20 years.
Education/Career:
Bash graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Athletic Training. While on co-op at Northeastern he worked at area high schools, colleges, as well as the New England Patriots during the 2004 Super Bowl season. Once he graduated, he went on to work at Boston College as an Athletic Trainer. Ultimately wanting to learn more and not be limited in how he treats patients, he went back to school to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Franklin Pierce University. Bash then began to work at an Outpatient Orthopedic clinic upon graduating and worked with patients aged 8-95 with various injuries.
Bash has also taken several continuing education courses and certifications including Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Graston Technique Certified (Level 1 and 2), Full Body Active Release Technique Certified, Integrative Dry Needling and Selective Functional Movement Assessment. He loves to learn and continues to take various courses to gain knowledge so he can provide the best treatments for his patients.
Personal Background
Bash is an avid endurance athlete. He has completed 15 marathons, including 4 Boston marathons. He has also competed in 7 Ironman triathlons and 15 half Ironman’s. In 2021, he finished 2nd at Ironman Waco qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. In 2022, he then fulfilled a life long dream of competing and finishing the Ironman World Championships. He has also qualified for the Half Ironman World Championship 4 times. He can relate to what some of his patients have been going through due to injuries from overtraining, as he has dealt with his own personal injuries throughout the years.
When he is not working, Bash loves spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is either at the park or racing them around the block. He loves being outside with them and tries to instill the value of living a healthy, active lifestyle.
Brendan Connor, PT, DPT is a therapist with 9 years of experience in a variety of settings spanning acute care, private practice and geriatric home care. As an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association he has worked to expand access to PT care while broadening the impact of therapists in the communities they serve.
He is most passionate about making active lifestyles achievable for all regardless of age, ability, or background. His clinical interests include cycling medicine, chronic pain, and functional movement disorder.
Brendan's training in Male Pelvic Floor Health pertains to diagnoses such as (but not limited to) pre/post prostatectomy, chronic pelvic pain, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and pudendal neuralgia.
When outside of the clinic Brendan can usually be found enjoying time with his wife and three young children or riding his bike along the roads and trails of the North Shore.
Dr. Lianne Farber Pagano is a Boston area, Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) certified Physical Therapist with a passion for treating and preventing orthopedic and running-related injuries. Her mission is to utilize the full extent of her professional knowledge to help others move through life at their full potential.
Lianne grew up on Long Island and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she went from a walk-on to a 4 time all-American cross country and track and field athlete before graduating from Tufts University School of Medicine with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Prior to her career in physical therapy, Lianne was a professional runner for Team New Balance Boston and the NorCal Distance Project specializing in the 1500m distance and qualified for 5 USA Track and Field National Championships. During Lianne’s professional career she trained alongside Olympians Kate Grace, Elle Purrier, Heather MacLean, Cory McGee and Kim Conley. Lianne has personal best times of 4:11 in the 1500m and 4:28 in the mile. Other career highlights include her top 10 finish at the 5th Avenue Mile and her 2:40 debut marathon at the California International Marathon in 2022.
After 20 years of competitive distance running and countless injuries, Lianne found her true passion in helping others prevent injury and continue doing what they love. Having had many setbacks of her own including a near career-ending foot fracture, she is able to empathize with the many emotions her patients face while dealing with injury and use her personal athletic experience to help keep them active and pain-free.
When not in the clinic, Lianne can be found running many miles along the Charles and with the Tracksmith Boston Hares. She is having fun trying to move up in race distance and has a goal of qualifying for the Olympic trials in the marathon.
Dr. Wilson Ray is a Chicago-area native who grew up playing a variety of sports, going on to play football for North Park University in Chicago and graduating in 2018 with a degree in Exercise Science. Shortly after completing his Bachelors Degree, Wilson moved to Boston to begin his studies for Physical Therapy at Northeastern University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2022. While in school, Wilson also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to enhance his DPT degree and to optimize his ability to prescribe, program and administer exercise programs.
Since moving to Boston, Wilson has grown a deep interest in running. He quickly fell in love with trail and ultra running, and has since completed two 100 mile, five 50 mile, and multiple 50 kilometer races, along with running a double crossing of the Grand Canyon.
At Wellness in Motion Boston, Wilson hopes to help all individuals, along with runners of all ability and experience levels to identify and understand the causes of injury, and maximize their ability to live happy, healthy lifestyles. He believes in an active approach to rehabilitation, and hopes to empower his patients to use regular movement and exercise to minimize pain and lead healthy lives.
Outside the clinic, you can find Wilson running on local trails, hiking and camping in the mountains, and volunteering at local trail races.
Dr. Kylie Cardoso is a Boston area Physical Therapist with a passion for treating and preventing orthopedic and running-related injuries as well as post surgical rehab. Kylie strives to get her patients back on their feet and doing what they love again. She wants her patients to learn that movement is medicine and everybody can benefit from movement.
Kylie graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2019 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She also earned her Bachelors in Health Sciences at Quinnipiac and while there was a member of the Division 1 Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Since graduating Kylie has practiced across Massachusetts in various outpatient orthopedic clinics as well as in the inpatient setting. She recently became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
When not in the clinic Kylie can be found out on a run training for her next marathon or walking her two dogs. Kylie has completed several marathons, including the New York City, Chicago, and Boston marathons, and it is through training for these marathons that Kylie has learned the importance of injury prevention.
Zoe is a graduate of the Northeastern University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She has since been working in the greater Boston area in outpatient orthopedics and is certified in Dry Needling.
Growing up, Zoe played in a variety of sports, but was mainly a ballet dancer. Because of this, she grew to have an appreciation for the human body, and the impact of movement on our health, leading her to a career in physical therapy. She enjoys helping patients of all different backgrounds get back to doing activities they love and feeling in control of their own health.
Outside of PT, Zoe enjoys running, hiking and yoga, as well as road trips to new places. She grew up in Ohio and Florida, and has lived in Boston for 5 years.
Dr. Kayla Serowik is an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with a passion for preventing and treating sports and non-sports related injuries. Kayla specializes in dry needling and will be receiving her certification in pelvic floor therapy this April. Kayla’s mission is to not only treat patients for their physical impairments, but to incorporate the importance of mental health and its role in rehabilitation as well.
Kayla grew up in Marblehead, MA and graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelors of science in kinesiology. Soon after, she went on to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy at Tufts University. Kayla is a former competitive gymnast and is no stranger to physical therapy, having spent significant time as a patient herself over the years.
Having recently discovered her passion for running and completing her first half-marathon, when she is not in the clinic Kayla can be found training for upcoming races, doing pilates, or reading.
Dr. Casey Yurista is a Boston area Physical Therapist with a passion for optimizing performance and driving patients to improve through individualized care. Casey is passionate about helping patients to continue doing what they love at a high level. He has a special interest in ACL rehabilitation and working with active people of all ages. Whether you are an athlete returning to sport after a surgery, a parent looking to maintain an active lifestyle in between child care duties, or a recreational golfer trying to shave a couple of strokes off of your game, Casey is here to help you.
Casey is an upstate New York native. He attended The Sage Colleges in Albany, NY for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Casey played Division 3 Men’s Soccer for the Sage Gators while getting his BS degree in Biology in 2016. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2019 from Sage.
Since starting his career in physical therapy, he has become a Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) to enhance his ability to transition care into strength and conditioning training. Following the CSCS, he pursued an intensive 18 month orthopedic residency with Inova Health System in Northern Virginia. The main focuses of the residency were specialized training in rehabilitation from orthopedic injury, hands on skill development, interdisciplinary care with the Inova Sports Medicine team, and community outreach to enhance access to Physical Therapy care. Upon completing residency, Casey received recognition as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in Physical Therapy signifying him as an expert. Since finishing residency, he has been working as a Performance Physical Therapist in Northern Virginia until recently moving to the Boston area. He has extensive experience working with athletes from youth to professional level along with working with a variety of individuals to overcome various orthopedic issues.
Casey has completed several continuing education courses and certifications since starting to practice including Selective Functional Movement Assessment Level 1 (SFMA), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training, Certification in Dry Needling throughout AAMT (Cert. DN), and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 1 golf swing assessment. He has also taken other continuing education courses on ACL rehabilitation and return to sport care.
When outside of the clinic, Casey is an active guy who enjoys a recreational run, pilates, lifting weights, and hiking. He has a deep interest in the psychology of performance and self growth so you may catch him reading or writing when alone. Casey and his future wife, Catherine, own a chocolate lab, named Cali, who they enjoy taking on hikes, walks, and to the dog park. He loves to try new foods, go to the farmers market, watch his favorite soccer team Arsenal F.C., see a live show or game, and sample local beer in his free time.
Kyle graduated from URI with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, and from Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, he worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach in both collegiate and private sports performance facilities, and has held a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification since 2014. Over his career, he has worked with a variety of athletes, from middle school aged, through to current Olympians.
Kyle’s treatment ideology centers upon quality patient education and the development of patient autonomy, while emphasizing movement optimization and tissue loading/strengthening. He believes that performance and rehab exist on a continuum, and that optimal rehab comes from blending the disciplines of S&C and PT. Kyle specializes in the treatment and prevention of athletic injuries, with a personal interest in lower body/extremity injuries.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Kyle lifting, in the mountains with his girlfriend and dog, reading with a pour-over coffee, or golfing somewhere in the Greater Boston area.
Katherine Romero, PT, DPT earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons University in Boston and her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Horseback Riding from Houghton University. Her clinical experiences include orthopedic and spinal surgery acute care, private outpatient focusing on female athletes, as well as outpatient pelvic health for all genders.
Through her clinical experiences Katherine has become passionate about pelvic health. She has worked with adults of many different ages and in various stages of life and strives to create an environment where her patients can be themselves and feel comfortable asking any questions. She has completed specialized training in pelvic health through the American Physical Therapy Association as well as through Herman and Wallace.
Katherine originally found her passion for physical therapy through her work as a therapeutic horseback riding instructor as well as through her interest in long distance running. She spent four years teaching therapeutic horseback riding to children with a variety of disabilities and valued the experience of working alongside various rehabilitation specialists.
In her free time, Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband, running while listening to mystery audiobooks, and baking.
Alicia has been a licensed Physical Therapist in Boston since 2016, gaining extensive experience at some of the top-rated rehabilitation hospitals and sports medicine clinics in the country. She specializes in working with youth, high school, and professional and recreational athletes. As a former professional cheerleader for the New England Patriots and a varsity high school head coach, Alicia brings a unique perspective to physical therapy. She is passionate about continuing her work with competitive athletes, helping them enhance performance and reduce their risk of injury.
